Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated the three-day Teej Mahotsav at Delhi Haat, Pitampura. The festival organized by the Delhi government was attended by Minister of Art, Culture, Language and Tourism, Kapil Mishra and was scheduled from July 25 to 27..

Women Members of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Rajasthan also graced the occasion. Expressing her gratitude, the chief minister said, “Parliament is in session, yet my MP sisters have come here to be a part of this celebration — this is truly heartwarming.”

The CM added that the presence of the Women’s Wing and her fellow Parliamentarians has added a new charm to the event organized by the Department of Tourism. “This year, we envisioned a grand and memorable celebration of Teej. And with Kapil Mishra’s support and vision, that dream has come true. Witnessing the excitement of my sisters and the event preparations here makes it clear — the celebration is exactly how we imagined it. Even the weather has supported us; it hasn’t rained today,” she remarked.

The venue is adorned with colorful stalls, delicious snacks like chaat and pakoras, and melodious music. The CM urged all women to participate and enjoy the festivities over all three days, saying, “When it’s time for joy, nothing can stop my sisters — neither cold nor heat. Their energy lights up the entire event.”

In her inaugural address, Gupta emphasized that Teej is not just a traditional festival, but a vibrant expression of women’s dignity, community participation, and cultural heritage. She encouraged the women of Delhi to take part enthusiastically and turn this event into a cultural movement.
